Mereka Bilang, Saya Monyet! is film drama Indonesia which was released in 2007 and directed by Djenar Maesa Ayu. The film stars among others, by Henidar Amroe, Ray Sahetapy and Jajang C. Noer.

Synopsis

The film is based on the novel written by Djenar, the director himself, who tells about the reality that concerns about high rates of violence against women and children, accompanied by lack of public education for human rights actually owned by individuals.

This film tells about the life of a grown woman named Adjeng, who tried to grapple with all aspects of life hit. Moving from a dark past, he chose the profession as a writer. All the way in the travel Adjeng to streamline his career. Harassment is often accepted Adjeng childhood and treatment of parents who lack proper adult form Adjeng characters so ambiguous.
